Language Learning for Peace in Thailand

As part of a networking event with FCA Thailand, the Peacemakers Network, and Institute of Buddhist Management for Happiness and Peace Foundation (IBHAP), Venerable Napan Thawornbanjob, Founder of IBHAP and Assistant Abbot of the Golden Mount Temple including Vice-President, FCA (Thailand) Foundation, led activities of English learning that contributed to peacebuilding efforts. Since 2020, the Peacemakers Network has been invited to be a volunteer teach to novices, monks and others who required to improve their English in an IBHAP training called ‘English for Peace of Mind’ (2020) and ‘Better Your English Within 24 Hours’ (2023). Philip Gassert, former American Project Manager of the Peacemakers Network’s Asia Working Group, supported the training in March and November of 2023. This event not only develops English communication skills, but also strengthens collaboration between the Peacemakers Network, FCA, and IBHAP to promote peacebuilding.

เรียนภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อสร้างสันติในไทย

กิจกรรมสร้างเครือข่ายระหว่างมูลนิธิสถาบันการจัดการวิถีพุทธเพื่อสุขและสันติ (สกพ.) ก่อตั้งโดยพระอาจารย์มหานภันต์ สนติภทโท ประธานกรรมการมูลนิธิและผู้ช่วยเจ้าอาวาสวัดสระเกศ กับมูลนิธิเอฟซีเอ (ประเทศไทย) จัดกิจกรรม “เรียนภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อสันติภาพ” นับตั้งแต่ปี ๒๕๖๓  มร. ฟิลิป การ์เส็ท อดีตผู้จัดการโครงการชาวอเมริกันได้ทำงานเป็นครูอาสาสมัครสอนภาษาอังกฤษให้กับพระภิกษุสงฆ์และบุคคลทั่วไปภายใต้โครงการภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อสันติสุขทางใจ ปี ๒๕๖๒ และโครงการพัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษภายใน ๒๔ ชั่วโมง ในปี ๒๕๖๖ ตามลำดับ ปีที่ผ่านมา มร.ฟิลิป ได้ทำงานจิตอาสา ๒ ครั้ง คือ เดือนมีนาคม และเดือนพฤศจิกายน กิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพภาษาอังกฤษ และเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายให้แนบแน่นยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งยังประชาสัมพันธ์องค์กรเอฟซีเอ กับ สกพ. ที่ทำงานด้านสันติภาพ
